My Inspection Procedure

Baker Home Inspection and Consulting Service offers you the most comprehnsive home inspection available.

The first thing I do is to acclimatize myself to the surroundings of the area. I look around, to get an overall picture of the exterior, the grounds, the site and the house in general.

I start your inspection at the roof and evaluate not only the roof surface, but also the chimney, the ventilation system, the plumbing stack(s), the electrical service entrance and any other systems or components located on or near the roof.

The next step is to inspect the exterior of the home. I use a macro and microscope approach to look at both the big picture and all the details.

I then move to the inside of the house, and starting at the bottom, working my way up through the house into the attic. While inside, I address such things as the Structure, the Heating and Cooling System, the Electrical and Plumbing System, the interior finishes, the Insulation and Ventilation and accessories such as Fireplaces.

I do not guess on any of the inspections and reports !

I utilize advanced high tech tools such as a Digital Circuit Breaker Finder, Digital Clamp Meter, Digital Multimeter, Digital Moisture Meter, Digital Laser Thermometer, Microwave Tester and Micro Inspection Camera. I also use a Digital Camera to take photos to add to your report. I use these tools to help confirm my findings throughout your prospective home.

Following your home inspection, I will carefully analyze the information that I have collected.

My evaluation also includes looking up any manufacture recalls you may need to know about. Then all of this is communicated to you through a detailed computer generated report, which includes descriptions along with digital photos of any major defects and deficiencies of the systems in and out of the house, as well as any recommended improvements. This will help you prioritize the improvements and develop a blueprint for your future in the home.

The report generating part can take 2 to 3 hours to complete . Your report will be available via e-mail, up loadable from my web server with a password, or a hard copy can be sent via " snail mail " or hand delivered to you by me.

Reinspections are available for an additional charge. Closing day walk-through inspection with you is available for free. I would need at least 2 weeks notice.

Customer Service - I have been in the customer service business for over 20 years and I know how to take care of my clients. If you have questions before or after your home inspection, my phone line is always open. I can and do promise you I will return your phone call as soon as possible if I do not pick up right away.

( It's always a good idea to have an independent authority conduct your home inspection. That way you have the security of knowing you have a complete and accurate account of your home's condition ).
